  • 3/4 large white onion, diced
  • 3 (15 ounce) cans kidney beans, drained
  • 3 (15 ounce) cans baked beans with pork
  • 1 (14.5 ounce) can stewed tomatoes
  • 1 (12 ounce) can sliced mushrooms, drained
  • 3 tablespoons chili powder
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • salt and pepper to taste

Combine the ground beef, ground turkey, and chopped onion in a substantial cooking vessel. Heat it over medium temperature, stirring constantly, until the meat is fully cooked and no longer pink, approximately 10 minutes.

Next, add the kidney beans, baked beans, crushed tomatoes, and sliced mushrooms to the pot. Add a blend of spices including chili powder, minced garlic, garlic powder, ground cinnamon, salt, and black pepper.

Lower the heat to a low setting and let it simmer for at least an hour, stirring occasionally. The longer the dish cooks, the better it will be. After half of the cooking time has elapsed, sample a portion and make any necessary adjustments to the seasoning to suit your taste.
