Ingredients
- 2 quarts apple cider
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 2 racks baby back ribs, cut into individual ribs
- 2 (12 ounce) bottles BBQ sauce
- 6 cloves garlic, coarsely chopped
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon chili garlic sauce
Instructions
1
Fill the 8-quart multi-functional electric pressure cooker with apple cider, leaving a small gap between the liquid and the top of the rack. Mix in garlic powder, salt, paprika, and black pepper to create a flavorful base. Insert the rack into the pot and heat the cider until it reaches boiling point. Position the ribs on the heated rack.
2
Close the lid and secure it firmly, following the manufacturer's guidelines for high-pressure cooking. Set a timer according to the device's instructions and wait for 27 minutes, allowing the pressure to build up.
3
Transfer the preheated oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and prepare a baking sheet with a roasting rack.
4
Combine 2 cups of barbecue sauce in a large container, then add minced garlic, brown sugar, and chili garlic sauce. Blend the mixture using an immersion blender until it's completely smooth. Mix this new blend into the remaining barbecue sauce in a large bowl, setting it aside until cooled down.
5
Release the pressure slowly using the quick-release method recommended by the manufacturer, taking around 5 minutes. Remove the lid and carefully take out the ribs.
6
Drain the cooking liquid from the ribs, then fully submerge them into the prepared barbecue sauce. Arrange the ribs on the roasting rack so they're not touching each other, and brush some extra sauce onto the top to make them sticky.
7
Place the ribs in the preheated oven and bake until the sauce is set, taking 15 to 20 minutes.
