Ingredients
- 1 (17.25 ounce) package frozen puff pastry sheets, thawed
- 1/4 cup Dijon mustard
- 1 (16 ounce) package pork sausagemeat
- 1 beaten egg
Instructions
1
Preheat your oven to a hot temperature, 400 degrees F (200 degrees C), by turning the dial or pressing the button on your oven's control panel.
2
Take the puff pastry out of its packaging and gently unroll it to reveal its layers. Use a sharp knife or pastry cutter to cut along the creases in each sheet, creating 12 identical squares.
3
Next, take a small amount of mustard and apply it evenly to each square, making sure to cover the entire surface.
4
Take your sausage and cut it into 12 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a small, tight log.
5
Place one sausage log onto the center of each pastry square. Use your fingers or a rolling pin to gently roll the dough around the sausage, making sure to seal the edges tightly.
6
Place the rolled pastry logs onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, leaving some space between each roll to allow for even cooking.
7
Brush the tops of each log with a beaten egg, making sure to cover them evenly. This will help create a golden-brown crust.
8
Bake the rolls in your preheated oven for 10 minutes, checking on them frequently to ensure they aren't burning. Continue baking until they are puffed and golden, about 10 more minutes.
9
Use a thermometer to check the internal temperature of each roll. The instant-read thermometer should read at least 160 degrees F (70 degrees C) when inserted into the center of a roll.
