Ingredients
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup butter
- 2 tablespoons light corn syrup
- 1 loaf French bread, cut into 1-inch slices
- 8 eggs
- 2 cups prepared eggnog
Instructions
1
Collect all necessary components and lightly coat a 9x13-inch baking vessel with cooking spray.
2
Combine brown sugar, butter, and corn syrup in a small saucepan over medium heat. Stir the mixture until it reaches boiling point; then, take the saucepan off the heat and pour the mixture into the prepared baking vessel.
3
Arrange bread slices on top of the sugar mixture.
4
Blend eggs and eggnog in a large container; pour the egg mixture over the bread slices. Cover the baking vessel with aluminum foil, and store it in the refrigerator for 8 hours to overnight.
5
Preheat your oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C). Remove the baking vessel from the refrigerator.
6
Bake in the preheated oven, covered, until the custard has solidified, approximately 35 to 40 minutes. Increase heat to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C); remove the aluminum foil, and continue baking until the top is golden brown, roughly 5 minutes more.
