Ingredients
- 2 (8 ounce) boneless rib-eye steaks
- salt and ground black pepper to taste
- 1 pinch garlic powder, or to taste
- 1 pinch Montreal steak seasoning, or to taste
- 1/3 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 1/3 cup Worcestershire sauce
- 1/3 cup soy sauce
- 1/3 cup balsamic vinegar
- 3 tablespoons Dijon mustard
- 3 cloves garlic, chopped
- 1 dash liquid smoke flavoring
Instructions
1
Arrange steaks in a shallow, flat baking vessel. Make shallow cuts at regular 1-inch intervals around the edges of each steak to allow for even flavor penetration. Use a fork to lightly prick both sides of the steaks several times.
2
Sprinkle each steak with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and Montreal steak seasoning. Gently press the seasonings into the meat to ensure they adhere evenly.
3
Combine olive oil, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, balsamic vinegar, Dijon mustard, garlic, and liquid smoke in a bowl. Whisk the ingredients together until well-mixed, then pour the marinade over the steaks to coat them thoroughly. Cover the baking vessel with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 2 hours, flipping the steaks halfway through the marinating time.
4
Heat an outdoor grill to medium-high temperatures and lightly brush the grates with oil. Cook the steaks on the preheated grill for 8 to 10 minutes per side, or until they reach a firm texture and are reddish-pink in the center. Use an instant-read thermometer to check for doneness, aiming for a temperature of 130 degrees F (54 degrees C) in the center of each steak.
