Easy Rice Cooker Black Beans
Ingredients
  • 1 cup dried black beans
  • 3 cups water, or more as needed
Instructions
1
Begin by submerging black beans in a substantial amount of water, measuring out 3 cups, within a large bowl. Allow the beans to rest for an initial 5-minute period.
2
Next, inspect the liquid covering the black beans and discard any debris that rises to the surface during this time.
3
After the initial resting period, transfer the black beans to a new container and cover them with an additional 3 cups of fresh water. Let the mixture sit for a prolonged period, ranging from 4 hours to overnight.
4
Once the soaking process is complete, combine the rehydrated black beans with an additional 3 cups of fresh water in a rice cooker. Set the device to its "Porridge" mode and cook until the beans are tender, periodically adding more water as necessary to achieve the desired consistency. The entire cooking process should take approximately 2 hours. Finally, drain the cooked black beans to serve.
