Ingredients
- 4 (5 ounce) mild white fish fillets
- 1 lemon, juiced
- salt to taste
- 4 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon Chinese five-spice powder
- 4 tablespoons canola oil
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
Instructions
1
Rinse the fish under a gentle stream of cold water, then gently blot it with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
2
Sprinkle a pinch of salt over both sides of the fish, followed by a light drizzle of lemon juice.
3
In a separate bowl, mix together the flour and five-spice powder until well combined.
4
Dip each fish fillet into the bowl, coating both sides evenly with the flour mixture.
5
In a large skillet, heat the canola and sesame oils over medium heat until they reach a gentle simmer.
6
Carefully place the fish fillets into the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until they reach a tender flake with a fork.
