Easy Microwave Corn on the Cob

  • 1 teaspoon butter, or to taste
  • salt to taste

Insert a single serving of corn into the microwave oven and heat on maximum power for 2 minutes; rotate the corn to ensure even heating, then continue cooking until the kernels are hot and steam is rising, approximately another 2 minutes.

Carefully remove the corn ear from the microwave oven using a heat-resistant utensil or a folded kitchen cloth, and position it on a stable surface. Remove the lower portion of the corn ear, exposing about 1/4 to 1/2 inch of kernels. Hold the ear vertically and gently squeeze it from top to bottom, allowing the corn kernels to fall away from the husk. The remaining husks and silk will be discarded.

Apply a small amount of butter to the exposed corn kernels, followed by a light sprinkling of salt.
