Easy Cheesy Scalloped Potatoes
Ingredients
  • cooking spray
  • 8 large potatoes, peeled and sliced
  • 14 slices Cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup skim milk
Instructions
1
Preheat your oven to the desired temperature of 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). To prevent food from sticking, lightly coat the interior surface of a casserole dish with cooking spray.
2
Create a base layer by placing a stack of potatoes at the bottom of your prepared casserole dish. Next, sprinkle a layer of cheese over the potatoes and then lightly dust it with some flour for added texture. Add a pinch of salt and pepper to enhance the flavor, then repeat this layering process with the remaining potatoes, cheese, and flour.
3
Finish off the dish by pouring a generous amount of milk over the top layer. Finally, cover the casserole dish with aluminum foil to create a barrier that will help retain moisture during cooking.
4
Bake the casserole in your preheated oven for approximately 45 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender enough to be pierced with a fork. Remove the foil and continue baking for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese has reached a bubbly and lightly browned state.
