- 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons butter

Thoroughly sprinkle both sides of the tuna steaks with a generous amount of Cajun seasoning.

Melt oil and butter in a large skillet over extremely high heat until it reaches almost smoldering temperatures.

Carefully position the tuna steaks in the skillet and sear them until they develop a dark, almost burnt appearance on one side, approximately 3 to 4 minutes. Flip the tuna steaks over and continue cooking until they reach your desired level of doneness, which should take around 3 to 4 minutes more. To ensure the tuna is cooked to a safe temperature, insert an instant-read thermometer into the center of the steak and check that it reads 140 degrees F (60 degrees C), indicating medium-rare.
