Double Chocolate Cookies
Ingredients
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup milk chocolate chips
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • salt
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup milk chocolate chips
Instructions
1
First, preheat your oven to 300 degrees Fahrenheit (or 150 degrees Celsius).
2
To begin making the cookie dough, combine 1/2 cup of softened butter, 1/4 cup of granulated sugar, and 1/2 cup of brown sugar in a medium-sized bowl. Use an electric mixer to cream these ingredients together until smooth.
3
Next, add 1 egg and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract to the bowl. Continue mixing until well incorporated.
4
In a separate bowl, whisk together 1 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour, a pinch of salt, and 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda. This will form the dry ingredients for your cookie dough.
5
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the first bowl, mixing until a smooth dough forms. Fold in 1/2 cup of chocolate chips.
6
To create the second cookie dough, repeat the process from step 3. However, this time add 1/4 cup of cocoa powder to the dry ingredients.
7
Using a spoon, scoop small amounts of each dough onto a large serving spoon. Drop the cookies 2 inches apart onto an unprepared cookie sheet.
8
Bake the cookies in a preheated oven for 8 to 10 minutes, or until they are lightly golden brown.
9
Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
