Detroit Coney Dogs
Ingredients
  • 4 hot dogs with natural casings
  • 1 hot dog rolls, sliced
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1 (10 ounce) can chile sauce without beans
  • 4 tablespoons prepared yellow mustard, or to taste

Heat up your outdoor grill to a medium-high temperature.

Put the hot dogs on the grill and cook them until they're nicely browned, taking anywhere from 5 to 8 minutes, flipping them once or until they're cooked just the way you like them. At the same time, lightly toast the hot dog buns on the grill.

In a tiny microwave-safe dish, warm up the chile sauce for 1 minute. Stir it gently and then heat it for another minute.

Place the cooked hot dogs on top of their toasted buns. Add a spoonful of chile sauce, some sliced onion, and a dollop of 1 tablespoon mustard on each hot dog, or add as much or as little as you prefer.
