Ingredients
- 1 (8 ounce) package softened cream cheese
- 1 egg yolk
- 1 tablespoon Italian bread crumbs
- 1 green onion, chopped
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 pinch salt and ground black pepper to taste
- 1 (6 ounce) can snow crab, drained
- 1 (4 ounce) can small shrimp, drained
- 12 large white mushrooms, stems removed
- 1 cup Italian bread crumbs
Instructions
1
Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit, or 200 degrees Celsius for a more precise measurement. To make cleanup easier, cover the baking sheet with aluminum foil before proceeding.
2
In a large mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, egg yolk, 1 tablespoon of fine bread crumbs, finely chopped green onion, a squeeze of fresh lemon juice, a dash of Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Blend the ingredients together until they form a smooth, even consistency.
3
Next, gently fold in 1/2 cup of cooked crab and shrimp to the mixture. Stuff mushroom caps with this filling, making sure to fill them as full as possible.
4
Press an additional 1 tablespoon of fine bread crumbs onto the top of each stuffed mushroom to coat them evenly. Arrange the mushrooms on a baking sheet, with their stuffing-side facing upwards.
5
Bake the stuffed mushrooms in your preheated oven for 12 to 14 minutes, or until they have begun to soften slightly. Remove the mushrooms from the oven and set your oven to broil.
6
Place the stuffed mushrooms under the broiler for a few minutes, or until their tops are golden brown and bubbly.
