Decadent Homemade Brownies
Ingredients
  • 2/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 3 ounces unsweetened chocolate, chopped
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 1/4 cups white sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
Instructions
1
Begin by heating your oven to a high temperature of 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). If you want an extra layer of protection when removing the brownies, cover them with parchment paper beforehand.
2
In a separate bowl, combine two essential ingredients: flour and salt. Set this mixture aside for the time being.
3
In a heat-resistant bowl, combine chopped chocolate and butter. Place this bowl over a saucepan filled with just enough simmering water to cover the bottom of the bowl. As the butter and almost all of the chocolate melt, stir until they form a smooth, consistent mixture. Remove from heat and set aside.
4
In another bowl, use an electric mixer to cream together sugar and eggs until they become incredibly light, fluffy, and smooth. This process should take around 5 minutes to complete. Add a hint of flavor with vanilla extract, then gradually pour in the melted chocolate mixture while mixing at maximum speed.
5
Mix in the flour and salt combination you prepared earlier, but only until it disappears from sight. Transfer the batter to your prepared baking dish and spread it out evenly.
6
Place the baking dish in the center of your preheated oven and bake until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with just a hint of residue, approximately 30 minutes.
7
Once done, transfer the brownies to a wire rack and let them cool for 15 minutes. Use a spatula to gently press down the higher parts of the brownie around the edges of the dish. Allow it to cool completely at room temperature for 20-30 minutes before cutting into 9 pieces.
