  • 3 tablespoons margarine
  • 1/2 teaspoon seasoned salt, or to taste

Divide a paper grocery bag into two equal parts, as this will serve as a makeshift bowl and help absorb any excess oil that may be present.

Combine the popcorn, oil, and margarine in a 2-quart pot. Place the pot on high heat and vigorously shake it back and forth, ensuring that the mixture is well-coated and heated evenly.

Once the first corn kernel pops, cover the pot immediately and continue to shake it vigorously until all of the kernels have popped.

Remove the pot from the heat source and carefully lift the lid off, holding it over the prepared bag until all of the popping has ceased.

Transfer the popped popcorn into the bag, and sprinkle it with 1/4 teaspoon of seasoned salt. Gently shake the bag to distribute the seasoning evenly, allowing you to assess the flavor before adding any additional salt if desired.
