Ingredients
- 3 pounds garden rotini pasta
- 2 (16 ounce) packages steam-in-bag frozen broccoli florets
- 6 tomatoes, chopped
- 2 (16 ounce) bottles Italian-style salad dressing
- 16 ounces Cheddar cheese, cubed
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 1 tablespoon ground black pepper
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
Instructions
1
Boil a substantial container of salted water until it reaches its boiling point; cook rotini in the boiling water until it is tender but still retains a slight firmness, approximately 8 minutes.
2
Simultaneously, steam broccoli in short intervals, one bag at a time, according to the manufacturer's instructions on the microwave package, 4 to 6 minutes.
3
Drain and cool the cooked pasta in a colander until it reaches room temperature. Reintroduce the pasta to the pot. Combine with steamed broccoli, diced tomatoes, salad dressing, shredded Cheddar cheese, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Stir until everything is well incorporated. Refrigerate the mixture for at least 30 minutes to allow it to chill, or up to 1 hour if desired. Serve the chilled pasta salad cold.
