Ingredients
- 2 slices bread, or more as needed
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 2 cups diced cooked turkey
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
- 1/4 teaspoon dried rosemary
- salt and ground black pepper to taste
- 1 egg, beaten
Instructions
1
Combine bread into a food processor and process until it reaches a soft, crumbly consistency. Transfer the bread crumbs to a shallow dish.
2
Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat until it reaches a liquid state. Whisk flour into the melted butter until smooth and free of lumps. Combine milk and broth with the butter-flour mixture, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens, approximately 5 minutes. Remove the saucepan from heat and allow it to cool.
3
Combine ground turkey, chopped parsley, dried rosemary, salt, and pepper into the cooled mixture. Mix well until all ingredients are fully incorporated. Shape the turkey mixture into small balls and place them on a plate, allowing them to chill in the refrigerator for at least 3 hours.
4
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees Celsius).
5
Dip each ball into the beaten egg, allowing any excess to drip back into the bowl. Coat the balls evenly with the bread crumbs by pressing them firmly onto the mixture. Arrange the coated balls on a baking sheet.
6
Bake the preheated balls in the oven until they are cooked through and have a golden brown color, approximately 25 to 30 minutes.
