  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup dry bread crumbs

  • 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon onion powder
  • 24 uncooked medium shrimp, peeled and deveined

Prepare the flour by scooping it into a bowl. Mix milk and egg in another bowl, whisking them together until well combined. In a third container, blend bread crumbs, salt, basil, parsley, garlic powder, and onion powder to create a seasoning blend.

Coat the shrimp gently in flour, shaking off any excess. Dip the shrimp into the milk and egg mixture, ensuring they are fully coated. Press the shrimp firmly into the bread crumbs to secure them in place. Using your hands, gently toss the shrimp to allow any loose crumbs to fall away. Arrange the breaded shrimp on a plate, leaving space between each piece. Repeat this process with the remaining shrimp.

Carefully lower the shrimp into the hot oil in batches, taking care not to overcrowd the container. Fry until golden brown, typically taking 3 to 4 minutes. Transfer the fried shrimp to a paper towel-lined platter to drain excess oil. Repeat this process with the remaining shrimp.
