Ingredients
- 1 (3 pound) cabbage
- 1/2 cup melted butter
- 2 teaspoons caraway seeds
- 2 teaspoons white vinegar
- salt to taste
- ground black pepper to taste
Instructions
1
Preheat your oven to a high temperature of 400 degrees Fahrenheit, or 200 degrees Celsius. To prevent sticking, cover the baking sheet with a layer of parchment paper.
2
Cut the cabbage head in two halves along its central axis, separating it from the core. Divide each half into four equal sections, cutting through the stem to create uniform wedges. Arrange these wedges on the prepared baking sheet.
3
Mix together a small amount of softened butter, caraway seeds, and apple cider vinegar in a tiny bowl. Coat half of the cabbage wedges with this mixture, sprinkling a pinch of salt and pepper over them for added flavor.
4
Place the cabbage wedges in the preheated oven and roast for 15 minutes. After this initial roasting, carefully flip each wedge over to ensure even cooking.
5
Brush the remaining butter mixture over the cabbage wedges, adding another pinch of salt and pepper to taste. Return these wedges to the oven for an additional 8-10 minutes, or until they are tender and have developed a light, caramelized crust on their edges.
