- 1/4 teaspoon chopped fresh parsley, or to taste
- 1 pinch onion powder, or to taste
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil, or as needed

Combine cooked rice, finely chopped onion, shredded Cheddar cheese, beaten egg, minced garlic, and a pinch of salt in a large bowl. Mix the ingredients together until they form a cohesive mixture. Add some heat with red pepper flakes and black pepper, then sprinkle in chopped parsley for added flavor. Finally, add a dash of onion powder to bring out the flavors. Mix everything together by hand until it's well combined and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

After the mixture has chilled, use your hands to shape it into 4 small patties.

Heat a generous amount of oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Carefully place the patties in the hot oil and fry until they're lightly browned, flipping them over halfway through to achieve an even browning.
