  • 2 green plantains, peeled and sliced 1/8-inch thick
  • salt to taste

Preheat the deep-fryer to a high temperature of 375 degrees Fahrenheit (or 190 degrees Celsius).

Fry the plantain slices in batches of around a dozen at a time, until they achieve a golden brown color on both sides, taking approximately 3 to 4 minutes.

Transfer the fried plantain slices to a large bowl lined with paper towels for draining excess oil, and season with salt immediately after frying while the plantains are still warm.
