Crispy Homemade Tater Tots
Ingredients
  • 2 medium russet potatoes, peeled
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon seasoned pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 2 cups peanut oil
Instructions
1
Begin by submerging potatoes in a substantial container and covering them with water; heat it up until boiling point, then decrease the temperature to a moderate level and let it simmer for about 10 minutes or until they become tender; remove from heat, drain excess water and let it cool down to a comfortable temperature for handling, taking around 10-15 minutes.
2
Next, take the cooked potatoes and shred them using a box grater; eliminate any remaining water from the shredded potato. Transfer the shredded potato into a large and spacious mixing bowl; mix it well with parsley, flour, salt, seasoned pepper, and onion powder until everything is perfectly blended together.
3
Now, shape the potato mixture into small, bite-sized nuggets with a length of about 1 inch.
4
Heat oil in a deep fryer or a large saucepan to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
5
Carefully add the potato nuggets in batches of about 5-10 to the hot oil. Fry them until they turn golden brown and crispy, which should take around 3-4 minutes. Remove the fried nuggets from the hot oil and transfer them to a plate lined with paper towels to drain any excess oil. Repeat this process for the remaining nuggets.
