- 2 tablespoons butter, melted
- salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons finely grated fresh Romano cheese
- 1 tablespoon seasoned dry bread crumbs

Acquire the necessary components for preparation.

Preheat your oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit (220 degrees Celsius).

Wash and submerge the potatoes in a bowl of cold water to prevent discoloration.

Carefully remove each potato one at a time, pat dry with a clean towel, and place in a large serving utensil.

Using a sharp blade, slice the potatoes into thin layers at 1/8-inch intervals, making sure to stop before cutting all the way through so the potato remains intact.

Arrange the sliced potatoes cut-side up in a shallow baking container or small roasting vessel.

Drizzle with half of the melted butter, then sprinkle a pinch of salt and pepper over the potatoes.

Place the prepared potatoes in the preheated oven for 35 to 40 minutes; drizzle with the remaining butter, sprinkle some Romano cheese and bread crumbs on top, and season with a little more salt and pepper before baking until nicely browned, approximately 20 minutes.
