Ingredients
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup cornmeal
- 1 pinch garlic salt
- 1 pinch ground black pepper
- 1 pinch salt
- 1 cup oil for frying
- 6 pounds butternut squash - peeled, seeded and sliced
Instructions
1
Collect all necessary components.
2
In a tiny bowl, blend milk and egg until well-combined. In another container, merge flour, cornmeal, garlic salt, pepper, and salt to create a uniform mixture.
3
Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium-high heat to 350-375 degrees Fahrenheit (180-190 degrees Celsius). Submerge each squash slice into the egg mixture, followed by a coating in the flour mixture to cover evenly.
4
Fry the coated squash slices in hot oil, one or two at a time, until they become crispy and golden brown on both sides. Remove excess oil by placing the slices on a paper towel for quick drying and serve right away
