Ingredients
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon poultry seasoning
- salt and ground black pepper to taste
- 2 eggs
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1 cup seasoned bread crumbs
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 2 1/2 cups prepared stuffing
- 1 quart oil for frying, or as needed
Instructions
1
Combine the dry ingredients - flour, poultry seasoning, salt, and black pepper - in a shallow dish to create the base for your stuffing mixture. In another shallow dish, whisk eggs and milk together until they form a smooth, cohesive blend.
2
In a third shallow dish, combine the bread crumbs, Parmesan cheese, and an additional 1 teaspoon of black pepper to create a crunchy coating for your stuffing balls.
3
Using your hands, shape each portion of the stuffing mixture into a ball, aiming for about 12 uniform balls.
4
Dip each ball through the flour mixture, gently shaking off any excess to prevent a thick layer from forming.
5
Transfer each ball to the egg mixture, ensuring it's evenly coated before proceeding.
6
Roll each ball in the bread crumb mixture until it's thoroughly covered.
7
Arrange the coated stuffing balls on a plate, allowing them to set and adhere to their new coating.
8
Heat oil in a deep fryer or large saucepan to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C), preparing it for the frying process.
9
Carefully lower 4 to 5 stuffing balls into the hot oil, frying until they're golden brown on all sides and crispy, about 4 minutes.
10
Transfer the fried stuffing balls to a paper towel-lined plate using a slotted spoon, and repeat with the remaining stuffing balls.
