Ingredients
- 2 teaspoons ground cumin
- 1 head cauliflower, cut into florets
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 egg
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 tablespoon tomato paste
- salt to taste
- 1/4 cup milk, or as needed
- 2 cups vegetable oil, or as needed
Instructions
1
Fill a large pot with salted water and heat it to a high temperature, creating a rolling boil; add 2 teaspoons of ground cumin to the boiling water.
2
Cook cauliflower florets in batches, using a gentle stirring motion, until they are tender but retain some crunch, approximately 1 to 2 minutes.
3
Transfer the cooked cauliflower florets to a plate and let them cool down.
4
In a separate mixing bowl, combine flour, egg, minced garlic, 1 teaspoon of ground cumin, tomato paste, and salt.
5
Blend the ingredients together until you get a smooth batter; if needed, add milk to achieve the desired consistency.
6
Heat oil in a deep frying pan to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C), making sure the temperature remains stable.
7
Dip each cauliflower floret in the batter mixture; fry the battered cauliflower in hot oil, working in batches, until it turns golden and crispy, taking around 6 to 8 minutes.
8
Remove the fried cauliflower with a slotted spoon and place it on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
