- 1 (14 ounce) package wonton wrappers

Heat a generous amount of oil in a substantial, heavy saucepan over high heat until it reaches a scorching 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).

Combine cream cheese, crabmeat, water chestnuts, garlic powder, and paprika in a modest-sized bowl.

Place approximately 1 teaspoon of the cream cheese mixture onto the center of each wonton wrapper.

Dampen the edges of the wonton wrappers with water, fold them over the mixture, and press firmly to seal.
