- 1/2 cup margarine
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 3 eggs
- 1/4 cup white sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Heat a substantial amount of oil in a deep, heavy skillet or deep-fryer to 360 degrees F (180 degrees C), with the oil level approximately 1 1/2 inches deep.

Combine water and margarine in a medium-sized saucepan, then bring the mixture to a rolling boil. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour and salt before stirring it into the boiling water mixture. Gradually decrease the heat to a low setting and vigorously stir the mixture until it forms a cohesive ball, taking about 1 minute.

Immediately remove the saucepan from the heat source and gradually incorporate eggs one at a time, beating the mixture until it's smooth. Transfer the dough to a pastry bag fitted with a large star-shaped tip.

Carefully extrude 4-inch long strips of dough directly into the hot oil, frying 3 or 4 strips simultaneously until they turn golden brown, taking approximately 2 minutes on each side. Remove the fried dough from the hot oil to drain excess oil on paper towels.

Combine sugar and cinnamon in a bowl, then roll the hot dough strips in the mixture while still warm.
