Ingredients
- 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup bacon bits
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh chives
- 1 teaspoon hot sauce
- 1 pound pork sausage
- 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
- 1 (5.5 ounce) package seasoned coating mix
- 1/8 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1/8 teaspoon chili powder
- 16 fresh jalapeno peppers
Instructions
1
Preheat your oven to its highest temperature setting, which is 350 degrees Fahrenheit or 175 degrees Celsius.
2
Mix the softened cream cheese with crumbled cooked bacon, chopped chives, and a dash of hot sauce in a bowl until well combined. In another bowl, combine raw sausage meat with shredded Cheddar cheese and mix until just incorporated.
3
On a flat plate, combine the seasoned coating mix, ground cumin, and chili powder, stirring until the spices are evenly blended.
4
Cut a horizontal slit along the length of each jalapeño pepper and carefully remove the seeds. Stuff each pepper with a generous amount of cream cheese mixture.
5
Next, shape the raw sausage meat around the peppers to cover them completely. Finally, roll each pepper in the seasoned coating mixture to coat evenly.
6
Arrange the stuffed peppers on a baking sheet in a single layer, making sure they don't touch each other.
7
Bake the peppers in the preheated oven for 25 minutes, or until the sausage is nicely browned and crispy.
