Crispy Bacon-Wrapped Stuffed Chicken Breasts in the Air Fryer
Ingredients
  • 3 skinless, boneless chicken breasts
  • 1 teaspoon lemon-pepper seasoning, or to taste
  • 3 slices Monterey Jack cheese
  • 6 spears fresh asparagus
  • 9 slices bacon
  • 12 wooden toothpicks
Instructions
1
Preheat the air fryer to its recommended temperature, 350 degrees F (175 degrees C), by following the manufacturer's guidelines.
2
Gently pat dry chicken pieces with paper towels to remove excess moisture. To create a butterfly effect, carefully slice the thickest part of each breast horizontally using a sharp knife. Be cautious not to cut all the way through, leaving one side intact.
3
Open the two sides of each breast and lay them flat like an open book. This will help you season both sides evenly with lemon-pepper seasoning.
4
Place a slice of cheese on each breast, followed by 4 asparagus spears cut in half. Roll the chicken up tightly around the cheese and asparagus, ensuring the filling remains inside.
5
Wrap each breast with 3 strips of bacon, securing them in place with wooden toothpicks where the bacon overlaps.
6
Carefully place each bacon-wrapped breast in the air fryer basket and cook for 15 minutes. Flip the breasts over and continue cooking for an additional 15 minutes.
7
Test the chicken's doneness by inserting an instant-read thermometer into the center. The internal temperature should reach 165 degrees F (74 degrees C) for perfectly cooked chicken.
