Ingredients
- 4 (2 ounce) hot dogs
- 4 slices cold center-cut, thinly sliced bacon
- 2 large hot dog buns
- 2 tablespoons prepared yellow mustard, or to taste
- 2 tablespoons dill pickle relish, or to taste
- 2 teaspoons diced red onion, or to taste
- 2 tablespoons diced tomato, or to taste
Instructions
1
Begin by positioning a single hot dog parallel to the edge of one bacon slice, aligning it vertically at the top. Secure the hot dog in place by rolling the bacon once to create a stable foundation. Next, carefully position the second hot dog directly beneath the first one, ensuring it is centered and aligned with its counterpart. Wrap the bacon slice around the second hot dog in a zig-zag motion, repeating this process twice to create a secure and compact package. Tuck the wrapped bacon slice between the two hot dogs, creating a snug and cohesive unit. Repeat this process by tucking the second bacon slice where you left off, then rolling over the remaining half of the hot dogs to secure them in place. Finish by tucking the end between the two hot dogs, creating a seamless and finished package. Repeat this process with the remaining hot dogs and bacon slices to create multiple packages.
2
Heat a non-stick pan over medium heat, allowing the pan to reach its optimal temperature. Add the bacon-wrapped hot dogs to the pan and cook, gently turning them as needed, until they are evenly browned on all sides. This process should take approximately 10 minutes.
3
Spread a small amount of mustard, about one tablespoon, over each bun. Add the cooked hot dogs to the buns and top with a layer of dill pickle relish, sliced red onion, and diced tomato.
