Combine bread cubes, Cheddar cheese, egg, salt, garlic powder, and black pepper in the bowl with the onion. Mix these ingredients until they form a cohesive mixture. Using your hands, shape this mixture into 8 identical balls; wrap each ball with a single strip of bacon. Secure the bacon in place using toothpicks.
