  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 pound cooked shrimp - peeled and deveined
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup half-and-half
  • 6 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
  • salt to taste

Fill a large container with water that has been lightly seasoned with salt, and then heat it until it reaches a vigorous boil. Cook fettuccine pasta in the boiling water for 8 minutes, or until it is cooked through but still retains a bit of firmness in the center. Remove from heat and drain off the excess water.

In a large cooking vessel, melt butter over medium heat. Cook and constantly stir shrimp and minced garlic in the melted butter for 1 minute. Pour in a dairy product that is half as rich as milk; stir to combine. Gradually add grated Parmesan cheese, one tablespoon at a time, stirring continuously to prevent lumps. Mix in chopped parsley; add a pinch of salt to taste. Continue to simmer, stirring frequently, until the sauce has thickened to your liking.
