Creamy Crab Alfredo
Ingredients
  • 8 ounces dried fettucine
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 2 cups half-and-half
  • 1 (4 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 8 ounces crabmeat, flaked
Instructions
1
Boil a large container of salted water until it reaches its boiling point. Introduce pasta into the pot and cook for 8 to 10 minutes, or until it reaches a firm yet tender texture; drain. Keep the pasta warm and covered to maintain its temperature.
2
Simultaneously, melt butter in a large cooking vessel over medium heat. Introduce minced garlic into the mixture and cook until its fragrance becomes apparent, approximately 2 minutes, taking care not to allow it to darken. Combine the flour, salt, pepper, and cayenne pepper into the saucepan and reduce heat. Cook, stirring constantly for about 2 minutes. Introduce half-and-half into the mixture and stir over medium heat until it thickens slightly, roughly 3 minutes.
3
Add cream cheese and Parmesan cheese to the saucepan and stir until they melt and blend seamlessly, resulting in a smooth mixture. Incorporate crabmeat into the sauce and continue cooking until it reaches a heated state, around 3 minutes.
4
Divide fettucine between two plates or bowls and top with the crab sauce.
