Ingredients
- 1 (16 ounce) package frozen California mixed vegetables (cauliflower, broccoli, and carrots)
- 1 (16 ounce) bag frozen broccoli
- 2 (14.5 ounce) cans chicken broth
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 cups milk
- 1 (1 pound) loaf processed cheese food (such as Velveeta®), cubed
Instructions
1
Combine a variety of mixed vegetables and frozen broccoli florets in a substantial cooking vessel. Introduce chicken stock into the pot and initiate boiling; subsequently, lower the heat to a moderate level and maintain a gentle simmer until the vegetables become tender, approximately 20 minutes.
2
Concurrently, melt butter in a smaller cooking container over a moderate heat setting; blend the flour into the melted butter until it forms a uniform mixture, then cook for a short period of time until the color becomes lighter. Whisk milk into the saucepan and continue to simmer until it thickens, roughly 10 minutes. Stir cheese into the saucepan mixture and then combine it with the vegetables by stirring until they are tender, approximately 5 minutes additional.
