- 1/4 cup butter
- 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 large head cabbage, cored and shredded
- 1/2 cup sour cream

Preheat a substantial, deep frying pan over a moderately high heat level, flipping the bacon pieces occasionally, until they are uniformly browned in color, approximately 10 minutes. Transfer the cooked bacon to a paper towel-lined platter for draining purposes.

Add butter, flour, and salt to the same frying pan; whisk together with the remaining bacon drippings over a medium heat level until the butter has fully melted. Introduce chopped cabbage into the pan and cook, stirring occasionally, until it becomes tender in texture, roughly 15 minutes. Shred the cooked bacon into the pan. Combine sour cream with the shredded bacon and cook until it reaches a heated state, around 1 to 2 minutes.
