Creamy Au Gratin Potatoes
Ingredients
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 3 russet potato, peeled and cubed
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup 2% reduced-fat milk
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1 cup grated medium Cheddar cheese
Instructions
1
Acquire all necessary components. Preheat your oven to a high temperature of 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees Celsius).
2
Use a non-stick spray or melted butter to coat the interior of a 9x13 inch baking dish. Distribute the potatoes uniformly across the surface of the pan.
3
Combine heavy cream, milk, garlic, flour, salt, and pepper in a large mixing container. Pour the creamy mixture over the potatoes, ensuring an even layer. Cover the dish with aluminum foil.
4
Place the covered baking dish in a preheated oven for an initial 20 minutes, then lift the foil to reveal the potatoes. Continue baking until they can be easily pierced with a fork, approximately 40 minutes.
5
Remove the potatoes from the oven and sprinkle shredded Cheddar cheese over the top. Return the dish to the oven for an additional 5-10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly. Permit the potatoes to cool for 5 minutes before serving.
