Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 portobello mushroom caps, thinly sliced
- 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 1/2 cups milk
- 6 ounces grated Parmesan cheese, or to taste
- 1 tablespoon minced fresh basil leaves
- 1 clove garlic, crushed
- ground white pepper, to taste
Instructions
1
Preheat the pan by placing it over medium heat and adding 2 tablespoons of butter. Introduce the mushrooms into the pan, stirring constantly until they become tender and lose their initial firmness, approximately 5 minutes. Remove from the pan.
2
Combine cream cheese and 1/2 cup of butter in a saucepan, stirring occasionally as it warms up over medium heat. Gradually incorporate milk and Parmesan cheese until the mixture becomes smooth and uniform.
3
Add a few sprigs of basil, some minced garlic, and a pinch of white pepper to the saucepan. Allow the flavors to meld together, taking around 5 minutes; then stir in the previously set-aside mushrooms.
