Cranberry Pecan Butter Tarts
Ingredients
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans
  • 1/2 cup chopped dried cranberries
  • 1/3 cup butter, melted
  • 1/2 orange, zested and juiced
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon brandy, or to taste
  • 15 (2 inch) sweetened pastry tart shells
  • 15 pecan halves
  • 15 fresh cranberries
Instructions
1
Begin by setting the oven to a high temperature, specifically 350 degrees Fahrenheit or 175 degrees Celsius.
2
In a large mixing bowl, combine the brown sugar, chopped pecans, dried cranberries, and softened butter. Add a hint of citrus flavor by incorporating orange zest and freshly squeezed orange juice into the mixture. Next, crack in an egg to bind everything together, followed by a splash of brandy for added depth.
3
Next, prepare the baking surface by arranging the pre-baked tart shells in a single layer on a baking sheet. Spoon the pecan-cranberry filling into each shell, leaving about 1/3 of the shell empty. Top each tart with a single pecan half and a fresh cranberry for added texture and visual appeal.
4
Finally, place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 18 to 20 minutes, or until the tart shells are lightly golden brown and the filling is bubbly and fragrant.
