Ingredients
- 1/3 cup butter
- 1/2 large onion, minced
- 1 bunch green onions, chopped
- 1/2 green bell pepper, chopped
- 1 stalk celery, minced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 pound crabmeat, shredded
- 1/4 teaspoon Cajun seasoning
- 1/2 cup dry bread crumbs
- salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons butter, softened
- 4 pounds whole flounder - cleaned, rinsed and dried
Instructions
1
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit, which is equivalent to 175 degrees Celsius. To prevent sticking, lightly coat a large casserole dish or baking sheet with butter and line it with tin foil.
2
In a medium-sized saucepan, melt butter over low heat. Introduce the aromatics - onion, green onions, bell pepper, celery, and garlic - into the saucepan. Gradually cook these ingredients over low heat, occasionally stirring until they become tender.
3
Once the pan has been removed from the heat source, incorporate the shredded crabmeat, seasonings, bread crumbs, salt, and pepper into the mixture.
4
Rub a thin layer of butter onto the skin and cavity of your flounder fish. Fill it with the prepared crab mixture, then place it in the prepared pan.
5
Bake your fish for 30 minutes or until its flesh is firm and white in the thickest part.
