Corned Beef Swiss Cheese Dip
Ingredients
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 3/4 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
  • 1 (8 ounce) carton sour cream
  • 3 (2.5 ounce) packages deli-sliced corned beef (such as Buddig ®), diced
  • 1 1/2 cups mayonnaise
  • 1 cup shredded Swiss cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 (1 pound) loaf unsliced Italian bread
Instructions
1
Preheat the oven to a high temperature of 350 degrees Fahrenheit, which is equivalent to 175 degrees Celsius.
2
Heat oil in a skillet over a moderate heat setting, and then cook the onion until it becomes soft and tender, stirring occasionally for 5 to 7 minutes.
3
Transfer the cooked onion to a large container, and then combine it with cream cheese, sour cream, corned beef, mayonnaise, Swiss cheese, and garlic powder in the mixing bowl. Ensure that all ingredients are well incorporated.
4
Cut off the top portion of a bread loaf and tear it into small pieces, leaving about half an inch of bread around the edges. This will form the base of your bread bowl, and you can reserve these pieces for dipping into the dip if desired.
5
Spoon the corned beef mixture into the bread bowl, and then wrap it tightly with aluminum foil to create a sealed package. Place this package onto a baking sheet.
6
Bake the bread bowl in the preheated oven for 1 to 1.5 hours, or until the dip is fully cooked and bubbly.
