- 2 tablespoons white sugar
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 1 ripe mango - peeled, seeded, and sliced

Begin by rinsing the sweet rice under cold running water until the water is clear, indicating that it's free from impurities. Next, soak the rice in warm water for 2 to 4 hours, allowing it to rehydrate. After soaking, drain the excess water from the rice.

Now, prepare a steamer by inserting it into a saucepan and filling the saucepan with water, leaving about an inch of space at the bottom. Bring the water to a rolling boil before proceeding.

Line the steamer with cheesecloth and carefully transfer the rice into it. Place the steamer over the boiling water and steam the rice until it's cooked through, taking about 20 minutes.

Once the rice is cooked, remove the steamer from the heat source and transfer it to a serving bowl.

Meanwhile, combine the coconut milk, sugar, and salt in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir until the mixture reaches a gentle simmer.
