- 1 cup flaked coconut

Begin by preheating your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit, or 175 degrees Celsius. Next, take a moment to grease an 8x12-inch baking pan with some cooking spray.

In a large mixing bowl, combine softened butter, 1/2 cup of packed brown sugar, and 1 cup of all-purpose flour. Use an electric mixer to thoroughly blend these ingredients until they're well combined.

Press the mixture into the prepared baking pan, making sure to evenly cover the entire surface.

Then, place the baking pan in the preheated oven and bake until it's firm to the touch but not yet golden brown, approximately 20 minutes. Remove the pan from the oven and lower the temperature to 325 degrees Fahrenheit, or 165 degrees Celsius.

In a separate mixing bowl, whisk together 1 cup of brown sugar, eggs, 2 tablespoons of all-purpose flour, vanilla extract, baking powder, and salt until the mixture is smooth and light in color. Use an electric mixer to blend these ingredients for about 2 minutes.

Add some chopped walnuts to the mixture and continue blending until they're evenly distributed throughout.

Spread this walnut mixture over the crust, making sure to cover it evenly. Finally, sprinkle some shredded coconut on top of the mixture.
