Ingredients
- 1 (29 ounce) can sliced peaches
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted
- 1 pinch ground cinnamon
- 1 pinch ground nutmeg
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 cup milk
- 1 cup white sugar
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 pinch salt
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
Instructions
1
Preheat the oven to its highest temperature setting, which is 350 degrees Fahrenheit or 175 degrees Celsius.
2
In a spacious container, merge sliced peaches with their juice, adding 2 tablespoons of melted butter and a small amount of ground cinnamon along with a pinch of ground nutmeg.
3
In another container, dissolve cornstarch in water before incorporating it into the peach mixture; set this aside for later use.
4
In a separate mixing vessel, blend milk, sugar, flour, baking powder, and salt until you achieve a smooth consistency - the mixture will be quite liquidy.
5
Melt 1/2 cup of butter in a standard-sized 9x13 inch baking dish. Pour the batter mixture over the melted butter. Remove the sliced peaches from their container and sprinkle them evenly over the batter.
6
Sprinkle a small amount of ground cinnamon and nutmeg on top of the peaches for added flavor.
7
Bake the dish in the preheated oven for 1 hour, or until a knife inserted into the center comes out clean.
