- 1 cup half-and-half, divided

- 8 large marshmallows

Combine sugar, cocoa powder, cinnamon, and salt in a saucepan; mix well with boiling water. Continue whisking until the sugar has fully incorporated.

Heat the cocoa mixture on medium-high heat, stirring constantly, for approximately 2 minutes; then add milk and half a cup of half-and-half to the mixture. Cook, stirring frequently, just until it reaches a hot temperature, roughly 2 minutes.

Take the saucepan off the heat source; stir in the remaining half-and-half and add vanilla extract.
