Ingredients
- 4 cups Concord grapes
- 1 cup white sugar
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 recipe pastry for a 9-inch double-crust pie
Instructions
1
Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit, or 190 degrees Celsius. Position a sheet pan lined with foil on the lower oven rack to facilitate easy removal of the baked goods.
2
Begin by cleaning and preparing the grapes. Remove the stems, then extract the pulp from the grape skins into a saucepan, reserving the skins in a separate container.
3
Gradually cook the grape pulp over medium-low heat, stirring constantly to prevent scorching, until the seeds start to separate from the pulp.
4
Transfer the cooked grape pulp back into the reserved skins, using a spoon to gently coax the seeds out. Combine the mixture with sugar, flour, and lemon juice.
5
Roll out pastry dough to fit a 9-inch pie dish. Fill the pie crust with the prepared filling, then use the remaining pastry to create a decorative lattice top.
6
Place the pie on the preheated sheet pan and bake in the oven for approximately 50 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and the filling has reached a bubbly consistency.
