Ingredients
- 1 cup whole wheat flour
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup hot water or as needed
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
Instructions
1
Collect all the necessary components required for this recipe.
2
Combine whole wheat flour, all-purpose flour, and salt in a large mixing container. Utilize a wooden spoon to blend water and oil into the mixture, stirring until a soft, elastic dough forms. If additional moisture is necessary, incorporate more water into the mixture.
3
Proceed to knead the dough on a surface lightly dusted with flour until it becomes smooth and even.
4
Divide the dough into 10 equal parts, or adjust to your liking for larger chapatis. Shape each portion into a ball and allow it to rest for a few minutes.
5
Preheat a skillet that has been lightly coated with oil over medium heat. Utilize a rolling pin to flatten dough balls on a surface lightly dusted with flour until they become very thin.
6
Once the skillet begins to emit smoke, place a chapati in it. Cook until the bottom develops brown spots, approximately 30 seconds, then flip and cook for an additional 30 seconds.
7
Repeat the process to cook the remaining chapatis.
