Drizzle a generous amount of olive oil over each chicken breast, followed by a light coating of salt and black pepper on both sides. Place the chicken breasts skin-side down on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Bake in the preheated oven for 10 minutes, then carefully flip the chicken breasts over to expose their skin sides. Continue cooking until the chicken is no longer pink at the bone and the juices flow freely, approximately 10 minutes more. To ensure the chicken is cooked to a safe temperature, insert an instant-read thermometer into the thickest part of the breast near the bone. The internal temperature should reach 165 degrees Fahrenheit (74 degrees Celsius). Remove the chicken from the oven and permit it to rest for five minutes before serving.
