Ingredients
- 2 pounds sirloin steak, pounded to 1/4-inch thickness and cut into 1 x 1 1/2-inch strips
- 1/2 cup red wine
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1 small onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups canned sliced mushrooms
- 1 (10 ounce) can beef broth
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 2 teaspoons red pepper flakes
- 1 teaspoon prepared yellow mustard
- 1/3 cup cream cheese
- 1/3 cup sour cream
- 2 cups hot cooked noodles
Instructions
1
Combine the steak and red wine in a bowl, allowing them to mingle for 15 to 30 minutes.
2
Transfer the steak to a sealable container, reserving the marinade for later use; pour the flour mixture over the steak and shake vigorously to coat evenly.
3
Heat butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat, then sear the steak, onion, and garlic until it reaches a rich brown color and the onion is tender and translucent, taking about 10 to 15 minutes.
4
Add the mushrooms, beef broth, water, reserved marinade, Worcestershire sauce, red pepper flakes, and mustard to the skillet mixture, stirring until everything is well combined; bring the mixture to a rolling boil.
5
Gradually reduce the heat, cover the skillet, and let it simmer until the steak is tender to your liking, approximately 1 hour.
6
Stir in the cream cheese and sour cream until they are fully incorporated into the steak mixture; cook for an additional 2 to 3 minutes, allowing everything to warm through.
7
Serve the steak over cooked noodles.
