Ingredients
- 5 apple - peeled, cored and sliced
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 4 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 4 teaspoons baking powder
- 4 eggs
- 2 cups white sugar
- 1 cup vegetable oil
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 cup chopped walnuts
- 4 teaspoons white sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Instructions
1
Preheat your oven to a high temperature of 350 degrees Fahrenheit (or 175 degrees Celsius, if you prefer metric).
2
Next, lightly coat a 9x13-inch baking dish with butter or cooking spray and dust it with flour to prevent the cake from sticking.
3
Sift together 3 cups of all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon of salt, 1/2 teaspoon of ground cinnamon, and 1 teaspoon of baking powder in a bowl. Set the mixture aside for now.
4
In a large mixing bowl, use an electric mixer to cream together 2 large eggs and 1 cup of granulated sugar until the mixture is pale and fluffy, taking around 10 to 15 minutes. Then, gradually add in 1/2 cup of melted oil until well combined.
5
Add the flour mixture you prepared earlier to the mixing bowl and mix everything together until it's smooth.
6
Fold in 2 cups of diced apples and 1/2 cup of chopped nuts into the cake batter.
7
In a small bowl, mix together 4 teaspoons of granulated sugar and 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon. Sprinkle this mixture evenly over the top of the cake batter.
8
Place the cake batter into your prepared baking dish and bake in a preheated oven until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean, taking approximately 50 to 60 minutes.
9
Once done, remove the cake from the oven and let it cool on a wire rack before serving.
